Perfect Pomegranate Watercolor Technique

I can’t believe it’s already August can you? It’s getting to be that time of year when school shopping starts, two-a-day practices for fall sports begin and the sounds of the season here in Montana are one of Cicadas.  The fruits that remind me of fall; crisp apples, pumpkins, and the one that I love the most, Pomegranates, will soon be filling the grocery store bins.  I can’t wait.

By the way did you know that Pomegranates grow upside down? Neither did I, but it’s true.  The calyx end, the end that looks like a little crown, is the bottom.  I just learned this while watching a video on the new stamping technique I want to share with you today. So naturally the stamp set I chose to showcase the card I’m sharing with you today is the Perfectly Pomegranate stamp set, a FREE product if your host a party or spend over $300 when purchasing Stampin’ Up! products.

I’ll fill you in on all the benefits of Sale-a-bration later.  But first let’s get to the card!

Perfect Pomegranate Card

It’s very easy to create the watercolor feel for this card. You simply ink your stamp and then spritz the inked stamp with water before stamping on watercolor paper. It gives the look of a watercolor painting. I will definitely be using this technique more often!

Below are the list of supplies and instructions. I’ve also included photos to show you step by step how I made this card using this simple and easy watercolor technique. I hope you enjoy making this card as much as I enjoyed creating it.

  • Cardstock/Paper: Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, Rich Razzleberry, Garden Green, Basic White, Perfectly Penciled DSP
  • Stampin’ Pads: Tuxedo Memento Black, Rich Razzleberry, Garden Green
  • Other: Deckled Rectangle Dies, Banners Pick-a-Punch, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Linen Thread, Stampin’ Seal, Multipurpose Liquid Glue
